This is an absolutely brilliant image; I have no idea as to how the image has been produced but to mind as judge I don't think it matter; it sums up the vibrancy of Manchester which is fast becoming my favourite city to visit.

Oh Pam why on earth did you feel the need to put your copyright mark in the bottom R.H. corner of image, it was the first thing I noticed, for me it ruined a otherwise super image which would have easily got a Top 10 spot.

fantastic image of unban architecture and the history of the canals, you can almost imagine the barges being drawn by a horse. The lighting, postproduction work is excellent, it's a fine testament to the photographer's skill in documenting the inner city,

I love all three of your images they really capture that special nigh time feeling, but my main issue is your use of a water mark right in the bottom LH corner which takes my eye completely away from the image, if there hadn't had been any water marks then who knows where they would have finished, this is my own personal opinion and other judges may well differ.

For a lot of people when they think of Manchester it's about trams, rain and wet streets and the photographer has capture that beautifully, I love the METRO stand It's amazing how METRO has taken over, I remember when it first appeared in London folk used to fight over it. A great image and it deserves it's Top 10 place.

I find this image to be very atmospheric I have always been a fan of getting out and about in rain, without the rain this would be a rather bland image which this isn't, I like the degree of separation between the figures, technically I see nothing wrong with the image. A great shot and Congratulations on your Highly Commended.

A very pon image showcasing how the country suffered just a few years ago, I find the person in the Hi -Viz emph the empties of the city, a fairly simple image that docum what the country and indeed the world, therefore I have given it a highly commended.

Coming from London when I think of Manchester, I think of wet dank streets populated by Lowery like figures, everything about the image the wet cobles add so much atmosphere and the Primark brings it right up to date. Cracking image.

Super abstract image of the I.W.M.. North, you have some lovely light, I wonder if you have tried converting the image into Black and White, can't really find anything negative to say about your entry, it fully deserves it's Highly Commended.

Great moody black and white image, personally I don't feel you needed the other photographer included he doesn't really add anything and tends to draw your eye away from the centre of interest, next time either wait or ask him to move.
