Such a simple image and yet so powerful. Perfect composition and great use of negative space. The brighter colours of the jellyfish are standing out on the black background. The tentacles give a perfect sense of movement and confusion at the same time. Great shot that deserves to be rewarded.

Photography is the art of capturing the moment and the photographer absolutely nailed it with this picture. I imagine this photo had required a lot of tries for several days before actually getting to this stunning result. Truly a masterpiece.

Such a simple image and yet so powerful. Perfect composition, warmer colours in the foreground blending with cold deep ones in the background. I imagine the photographer had to get the shot in a very precarious position and that shows dedication and passion.

Such a simple image and yet so powerful of an apex predator in its natural habitat. Blue sharks are getting rare due to human pressure so its important to share awareness about their critical state and promote conservation. Great shot.

Such a simple image and yet so powerful. Perfect composition and great use of bokeh. I imagine the photographer had to climb quite high and getting close to the cliff in order to get this shot showing dedication and passion.

A picture that express movement and power taking in raging seas. Penguins are feeding in open oceans and they come back to shore only when they are full of fish so that they can feed their babies. Getting back on land is the hardest part of the journey due to adverse conditions as shown in this shot.

Such a simple image and yet so powerful of an apex predator in its natural habitat. White sharks are getting rare due to human pressure so its important to share awareness about their critical state and promote conservation. Great shot.

This picture proves that underwater photography is not just taking pictures of a simple element but can be art and composition too. Very interesting and rare shot of newborn cuttlefish that haven't developed chromatophores yet except for the one on the top right.

Very rare moment of the juvenile stage of a jellyfish called Ephyra about to detach itself from the colony (strobila). Great macro shot that deserves to be rewarded. It would be really interesting to know the technique behind this shot as these animals are really tiny.

Clownfish are such interesting subjects to shoot. You can easily spend the whole dive on a rock with them and none of the pictures you have taken would be the same. Great technique, perfectly sharp image and wonderful colour contrast.

AS underwater photographer I am well aware of how hard and complexed shooting with snoot can be. The fact that the subject is a tiny skitty blenny camouflaging with the algae makes this type of picture even harder to achieve. Well done.

Marine life is any organism that lives in our seas and oceans. They live in a world seen first-hand only by a few who go diving, but coming more into our consciousness as we appreciate better the damage being done to these ecosystems by our terrestrial consumption. If you’re one of those who has been lucky enough to photograph marine life, you can give us all a reminder of this incredible hidden realm.
