Such a fascinating photo and a subject matter you don't see very often! It must have been incredible to have witnessed this and this documentary-style image seems to have been timed perfectly. I love the mixture of humpback whales and gulls within this photo and I can't stop looking at the open mouths of the whales and the jaws filled to the brim with sea water!

I absolutely love the minimalism within this photo, from the shades of white and grey to the shallow depth of field! This capture has really shown me you don't need eye contact to pull off an excellent portrait of an animal. The expression on the pup shows one of happiness and bliss, which in turn makes me happy!

What a dynamic photo. It's great to see the subject and the environment come together to tell a story. The breaking ice really gives this photo impact and the composition is perfect! My only note is that I think the vignetting takes away from the clarity of the image and I would have brightened the photo to really make the whiteness of the ice stand out but apart from that, this is an excellent and interesting capture!

What an incredible photo of a humpback whale, such a spectacular mammal! While there were several photos of whales coming out of the water or breaching, this was definitely my favourite. The clarity and focus on the creature is great and the light is balanced perfectly. The timing and fast shutter speed is excellent in creating a moving image and I love the almost ethereal yet simple background of the fog and mountains.
