Absolutely love the texture here. The texture in the wall and in the wood, the layers of items for sale in the shop. Having the negative space on the right really balances the image well. But my favorite part of this picture are the shoes resting on the step under the platform. Such lovely detail

The way the light has lit the subject and his expression showing his focus on his work really makes this a strong image. You have really captured the essence of the market - I can feel the hot night time air, the hustle and bustle that exists around him. Good choice on B/W as there are no bright colours to distract from the main subject. I see you shot this at 1/60th but there doesn't seem to be any movement around him which I would have expected at that speed. Might have been nice to have shot this at 1/40th or 1/20th for a bit of movement which could have added to the hustle and bustle feel. Well done for spotting this shot and getting it. Very easy to miss a moment like this. You clearly have a good eye.

**This contest is open to photographers ranked 1001+ in this week’s Leaderboard.** As a way to explore the different cultures of the world, markets are a great place to start. At stall after stall, heaped on tables, shelves and floors, you get an introduction to a culture’s cuisine, fashion, home furnishings, and more. You see the market’s visitors doing their shopping, mingling, living their lives, and it’s a place where the photographer can find images everywhere they look.

Great choice of lens. The shapes in the roof mirroring both the shapes of the market stalls and also the perspective so great idea keeping the roof in the shot. Nice colours, nice depth of field, nice detail. Well done
