Well done spotting this scene, many people would have walked straight past as it is quite a simple street scene but I love the character in this image. They are both engrossed in their newspapers outside their simple shop and your post production has really helped the scene pop without being over the top and distracting. Nicely done
Good choice on making this image black and white as it gets rid of any distractions so my eye is immediately drawn to the little girls eyes as she stares back into the lens. The out of focus fish in the foreground help to place the girl in the marketplace but they don't dominate the scene. Good choice of aperture - if they were any more in focus they may have taken something from the main subject so well done finding that balance. I would have loved it if more of the fish were facing towards the camera so their eyes echoed her look. The chair nicely frames the girl - I might have been tempted to crop the right of the frame out so that the chair became more symmetrical. Lovely, strong image. Well done
A lovely image with the baskets giving a great frame around the men and leading the eye in. It might have been nice if there was a tiny bit more detail to the right of the frame. But to have really taken this image up to the next level I think it would have been worth waiting for the right person to be in the middle that might be someone walking towards the camera, wearing the right coloured top or carry the right item etc to get the perfect shot and that might not happen for minutes or hours but if you have the time to dedicate when you have found the frame I think it is worth doing. But it is a great picture. Well done.

**This contest is open to photographers ranked between 1 and 250 in this week’s Leaderboard.** As a way to explore the different cultures of the world, markets are a great place to start. At stall after stall, heaped on tables, shelves and floors, you get an introduction to a culture’s cuisine, fashion, home furnishings, and more. You see the market’s visitors doing their shopping, mingling, living their lives, and it’s a place where the photographer can find images everywhere they look.
