There were so many snow images among the 5,700+ images entered that in the end, I had three to choose from and I decided to have this one rank on my top ten because of its unusual composition of the fence line. It just works so well.
I love the slight shading of an 'S' shape from bottom left to top right to balance out the fence line. Overall, it is a wonderful image.
This image caught my eye from the 5,700+ images that were entered and it takes an image of this quality to stop you in you tracks.
The colour scheme is the most dominant element of this image but the shape of the wake and the placement of the boat wins it for me. A lovely image that deserves third place.
Stunning capture of St Thomas Church in Slovenia. I have photographed this myself many times and to have conditions such as these is such a treat.
Great light, wonderful colours, a truly stunning (and consistent) mist inversion at sunrise as well as a gorgeous church that is way off into the distance has placed this image as my favourite.
Well done indeed to the photographer.

We’re stripping away excess clutter from our landscapes, and reminding ourselves that pared back imagery with a minimal number of elements can be just as impactful and successful as when the frame is packed with detail. Your minimalist landscapes can include water, but must also contain some land. And human habitation and buildings can be present, but the shot should predominantly be non-urban.

The church on the island at sunrise on Lake Bled in Slovenia is a scene that I have shot a dozen times and more.
To capture light as lovely as this is fairly rare from my experience yet the photographer has done incredibly well to do so. Lovely light, a little bit of mist included and a great reflection too.
