I love all the different angles and shapes captured here, perfectly presented in black and white, suiting the subject. Great viewpoint, with the wall edge in the foreground acting as a leading line to draw the viewer in. Great also that we see a glimpse down to the lower level, which helps describe the building further. I am a bit unsure whether the figure adds or detracts from the success of the shot, but if they were there, then it records the scene if nothing else, and I do get the suggestion of surrealism as you suggest. No doubt they were keeping an eye on you, ready to pounce and put a stop to further shots!. Congratulations on your winning image.

What I especially like about this image is that it seems to be a demonstration of good, honest photography and sympathetic editing, rather than a result of hours of excessive post-processing or excessively long exposures used to produce some artificially blurry skies giving surreal effects. Instead we get a great shot, capturing what we could see if visiting this spot, rather than some fantasy-type image. Well composed, with the line of the water curving into the frame, and a range of different buildings for the viewer to explore. Great work, well done on your top ten placing.

A great abstract image, well composed to show just three of these fascinating shapes, of which I am sure are just three of many. By shooting relatively close in, we see plenty of details in the structure, allowing the viewer to appreciate the design and the architecture. Lighting is great, with a good range of tones from bright highlights to dark shadows, with the imagd working especially well in black and white. Congratulations on your third place finish.

A little disappointlngly for me from a judges point of view, this contest was dominated by modern architecture, so this image stood out as being refreshingly different. Captured from directly overhead, this is not a view we would normally get to see of any car, and capturing this rather special car from this viewpoint makes for a fantastic shot. Colours are great, with the rich oranges and yellows contrasting against the grey paving. The shapes of the body details and interior give an abstract look to the image, adding another dimension. Great image, well done on your top ten placing.

I love the colours and the quality of the light bouncing off these modern shapes on the facade of the building (whatever their purpose is I cannot even guess!). Captured as a close-in view using a long lens, we get quite an abstract scene, with little idea as to the scale of these details. Although the shapes are repetative, there is still plenty for the eye to explore. Congratulations on your second place finish.
