Great contest!

First of all, thanks for entering my contest. This photo you have taken here is simple, but awesome. I love the solid dark green background. I also like how the flower's stem fades into the background at the bottom left of the image, this makes the photo look even nicer. Another thing I wanted to point out is that I really like these flowers, they are so gorgeous and I really love the big sphere in the middle of them. And the last thing I wanted to point out is the monarch butterfly! It is really awesome and looks so nice with the flower. So perfect job on this photo and taking a photo good enough for Second Place!

First of all, thanks for entering my contest. This photo you have taken here is unbelievable!!! I am still to this moment freaking out on how good this picture is. I like the little leaves that the monarch butterfly is on. One thing that is totally fabulous about this picture is the background. It has so many different dark colors. Orange, green, blue, gray, and more! And the main thing I wanted to mention is the Monarch Butterfly! It is so crisp, in focus, bright colored, and striking. Everything about it could not be better. Also, the awesome effect you have used for this photo makes it an easy Winner! Whatever effect you used, made the colors of the background and butterfly stand out more, and look more unique. They also made the monarch butterfly stand out more as well. This photo is definitely one of the best monarch butterfly photos I have ever seen! So tremendous job on this photo and taking a photo (easily) good enough to be my First Place Winner!!!

First of all, thanks for entering my contest. This photo you have taken here is very cool! I love how there are so many monarchs on this one branch, it will never stop being amazing to me that monarchs do this every winter. I also love how bright the orange color of the monarch's wings are! It looks so great. So awesome job on this photo, I really like it!

First of all, thanks for entering my contest. This photo you have taken here is very awesome. I love how close up this monarch is to the camera. It is a great macro shot and what is even better is that I have not seen very many really close up pictures of monarchs before, so this is sort of a new thing to me! Another thing I absolutely love about this photo is the texture and dust. It is really nice how you can see so much detail because the photo is so in focus, it is almost too in focus (: ! The white all over the monarch shows how much dust that they have on their wings all of the time, it is amazing. So fabulous job on this photo and taking a photo good enough for Third Place!

First of all, thanks for entering my contest. This photo you have taken here is very well done! I really love the green background, it is just one, plain, solid color that really makes the butterfly and the flower stand out way more than they would have normally! Another thing I wanted to point out is the flower, it looks so nice how there is just a speck of red, and the rest is all green except for the flower itself. And the last thing I wanted to say, probably the best and coolest thing of the whole image is how the monarch butterfly is "hidden" behind the flower. It is almost like it is either shy, or playing peek-a-boo! This photo makes me laugh a little bit every time I see it! So terrific job on this photo, it is one of my favorites of this whole contest!!!

First of all, thanks for entering my contest. This photo you have taken here is gorgeous. I love the monarch butterfly. It is exactly in the middle of the photo and is so much the subject that it is almost like there is nothing but the butterfly, everything else blends right in. Also, the flower that the butterfly is on has a nice light purple color to it, as a matter of fact it is so light that you almost can not even see it! And the last thing I wanted to point out is the bokeh!!! It is so gorgeous and makes this photo look so sweet and nice, almost like a dream! Also, the background color, yellowish green is a nice bright but light color at the same time. So fabulous job on this photo and taking a photo good enough for Fourth Place!

First of all, thanks for entering my contest. This photo you have taken here is awesome. I love the all of the tiny purple flowers! They are really cool especially with all of the little red dots in the center of each little flower. The background is great, it is perfectly exposed and has some nice light colors that show, but do not show enough to make the flowers and butterfly not stand out. So terrific job on this photo and taking a photo good enough for Sixth Place!

First of all, thanks for entering my contest. This photo you have taken here is very good. I love the dark and moody atmosphere of the image, normally dark and moody is kind of dismal, but this photo has a nice bright green background which brightens it up and makes it look a whole lot better! I also like the shapes in the background, it looks very cool. And the last thing I wanted to point out is that the monarch butterfly Is In Flight!!! One of the hardest challenges for a photographer (especially me) is to take a photo of something in flight and have it not come out blurry at all. It is almost impossible. This butterfly looks only the tiniest bit shaky which is fabulous for it being in flight! I also really love how the monarch's proboscis is already coming out before it is even on the flower probably because it is super hungry and is not hesitant to drink from the flower! So FABULOUS job on this photo and taking a photo good enough for Eighth Place!

First of all, thanks for entering my contest. This photo you have taken here is really cool. I love how sharp and clear the monarch butterfly is. Everything is so in detail and it looks really nice. Also, the background is great. It is not a solid black color but is good enough, the noise actually looks good for a change! Another thing that is very interesting is the butterfly's eye. It looks so huge and oval shaped, I have never really seen a monarch butterfly's eye look like this, maybe it is just because I have not ever seen too many really good macro shots of monarchs before! So awesome job on this photo and taking a photo good enough for Seventh Place!

First of all, thanks for entering my contest. This photo you have taken here is super awesome! I love the extreme quality of the photo, it is terrific. Another thing is the flowers! They have so much color to them and really stand out against everything else. Also like I point out all of the time, green backgrounds are the key for getting pretty much everything to really show and stand out, so great choice on the background. And the last thing I wanted to point out is the butterfly! The position it is in looks like it should be struggling to hold itself in place but monarchs are really good at "hanging" like this. So fabulous job on this photo and taking a photo good enough for Fifth Place!

First of all, thanks for entering my contest. This photo you have taken here is super awesome. I really love the smoke in the background, it looks so cool and makes this photo really exciting and dramatic! I also like how the butterfly is on a bunch of little branches! They look really interesting and strange because it is not that common that you see that many little branches in one bunch all together. Another thing that is awesome (of coarse) is the monarch butterfly! It is really gorgeous and I like your idea of this image of how you are showing the picture like the monarch butterfly was out at night, since monarch butterflies never come out at night it makes this picture have a funny and very cool idea to it. And the last thing I want to point out is your title! "Holding back the darkness" is a cool and creative title and it really looks like this monarch butterfly Is holding back the darkness or else the smoke and fog would come forth! So totally fabulous job on this photo!!! I can not believe how good it is!
