Monochrome

**Open to photographers with a ranking outside the top 1000. There are two other 'Monochrome' contests currently open to other ranks. Take a look at the <a href="https://www.photocrowd.com/leaderboard/">leaderboard</a> for more information on Photocrowd rankings.** In monochrome photos, there are no colours to brighten or set certain areas apart; shades of grey must be used to distinguish elements. However, without colour, qualities like shadow, light, pattern and texture are accentuated and imbued with even more emotion than their colourful counterparts, and the scene can be far more visually impactful.
