Moths

First of all, thanks for entering my contest. This picture here is awesome, I really like how the moth looks like some kind of bee or wasp! The red on the wings makes the photo less dreary and more exciting. I like the white plant running down the middle especially because it matches the color of the background! The antennas make the moth more mean-looking and "alarmed". And the quality of the image is just awesome, everything is in focus, and it just could not be any better! Awesome job!

First of all, Thanks for entering my contest. What you have here is fabulous! First of all, macro is always so awesome, and you achieved taking this macro photo literally perfect! The striking Blue color really brings the moth and its color out even more! Another thing, it appears to me that the eyes of the moth look hypnotizing and really draw you into the photo. The antennas on top look like a comb or something which is pretty cool. But the thing I really like the most about this photo is that almost every part of the moth in this photo is in focus, really the only part that is not is the background (which should not be anyway) and the other end of the moth. The sides of the moth could be made to look a little better if you had an editing tool to smudge the edges or something, but other than that it is awesome and I am so happy to have been given the opportunity to award you First Place! Wonderful Job!

The first time I saw that you had entered the picture I chose for my contest's banner, I was happy and thought it was cool that you entered the same picture! I really like this picture because it demonstrates the moth and how it drinks from a flower. I also know how hard it is to take a picture of these fast fellows because I have seen them and they are just like hummingbirds! I really like the curved proboscis and how the moth is still but the wings are slightly moving. And the flowers way off in the far left corner are nice because it makes the whole photo more interesting! So that is why I chose your photo for my contest's banner, and for my Top Ten!

First of all, thanks for entering my contest. With your photo here, I like how you have captured it and edited it! The picture has a nice Dark and Moody Effect, which I especially like in this photo because it makes all the colors really come out bright and vibrant. The photo could be a little brighter, but I think it looks good like this. The moth looks cool, and the orange wings are such brightly colored orange that they really make the whole entire moth stand out more, without that orange, the moth would be less visible in the photo. And the green leaves of the flower plants are really Dark Green, but it makes it look really cool and nice because it adds another color to the photo. So really, the entire photo is full of color. So Great Job for taking a picture good enough to be in my Top Ten!

First of all, thanks for entering my contest. This photo you have taken here is gorgeous! The moth has so many great and bright colors. The background really looks cool, I like the plants, the whole thing looks really lively to me! I do not think I have ever seen a moth with quite so much color to it! It is really cool. The only thing I could say to make it a little better would be to crop it maybe a little because if you cropped it, you could see the moth a little better and there would be a little more detail. But great job anyway! And I am glad to have been given the opportunity to make you one of my great Top Ten!!!

One of the things I like the most about it is how each of the four wings are not folded correctly and are folded in a way where it makes it hard to see each wing because all the lines are so much the same which makes it look like one big wing just like zebras in a herd how their stripes make predators get confused! I also like the type of moth this is, it is just an amazing-looking moth with all the details and shapes on it. Also, the branch the moth is on is so interesting with all the moss and plants and chipped up bark on it, it makes the whole image look better. And the background looks nice with yellow-green colored and little colors all over! So Great Job and Well Done!!!

How you have captured this photo really blows me away, the whole image has this cool dreamy effect to it, and the moth and the branch are so clear and in focus. the moth has so many vibrant colors, the branch it's on matches the moth, and how the branch twists and turns is pretty cool and makes the viewer really have to pay more attention to the photo and look at all the details in it. The end of the branch has a cool fold to it which looks good for the ending of it. With the background, great job, your background has so many interesting details in it even though it is blurred out. By Interesting Details, I mean that like in the top left corner, there is a touch of Dark Green, by the branch and the right-wing of the moth, there is a touch of white, and the rest of the background is yellow and pale white which really really makes the moth stand out and shows every single detail! And another cool thing about the background is that there is bokeh on certain parts which adds a nice touch of dreaminess to the photo. So very good job capturing this image, and I am so happy to give you a well-deserved Second Place in my contest!

First of all, thanks for entering my contest. This picture is a very cool one. I like how the whole photo is in focus. Also, the proboscis of the moth is really cool since you can see the whole thing and that it is unfolded just enough to be able to see every part of it. The fur on the math is amazing and is really detailed. But the main thing that makes the whole image look better, is that this moth is one that I, and I am sure lots of others have never seen, it looks like something from another world almost and sort of looks spooky. Really Great Job. I am impressed by your work here and glad to have been able to give you an award that you deserve.

I do not know why, but no one else entered a photo this good of quality of an Atlas Moth into my contest, yours is by far the best of this beautiful moth! I really love Atlas Moths, who wouldn't? They have so many colors, patterns, shapes, and stripes. The flower it is on here is nice how it is so brightly colored orange! All the green leaves in the background look so cool and I am really glad the picture did not come out with the background being completely blurry because I like that you can see everything in the back, it just looks a lot better! And how the flower and moth are so bright compared to the dark background is really awesome! So great job with this image!

First of all, thanks for entering my contest. This photo you have taken here is really something else! I love how it is so plain but so full of things in it! The two moths, yet the same species, look so much different from each other. The background is sort of gloomy-looking but looks really really cool for this image and adds a different feel to it, and the last thing is the plant, but the strange thing about the plant, is that to me, it looks old! I do not know why, but it just does, it might be the way it curves or maybe it is something else, but that is what made me like this picture more and pushed me into placing this photo into the Top Ten! Great Job!!!

First of all, thanks for entering my contest. With this picture, you have captured a lot of different things. One of the things is the Giant Eyes! Another one is how the Right Antennae (if you are looking at the photo it is the left) is slightly up, and the Left Antennae (if you are looking at the photo it is the right) is slightly down! All the hair on the moth's body is so cool because it adds a whole lot more detail to the image. And also, what is amazing I think, is the first thing I noticed when I looked at this photo is, the Proboscis! The proboscis to me looks like a sawblade almost from a horror movie or something! The whole image looks like it is straight out from a monster movie, especially the moth's eyes with those shapes in there! So great job with this image, I really like it!

The first thing I wanted you to know about this photo is that this Beautiful Brown Moth (indeed) is called a Polyphemus Moth, I have actually caught these moths and then let them go later, they are gorgeous, and huge! Anyway, with this photo, you have captured detail as the number 1 thing. Every hair on the moth shows, you can see the beginning of the right antennae perfectly, it would be nice if you could see both of them, all in focus, but there is no way you could get that part in focus due to the camera. The eyes are cool how they are almost hypnotizing since they are dark blue like that! And the wings are super cool how you can see just the edge mainly and that the edge of the wings has a completely different color than the top and bottom of the wings, I never noticed that before! There are other things about this photo that are cool but those are the main things. Great Job and well done on this photo!

All the hair and the antennas look cool. I like how the hair from the moth is falling all over. And the big blue eyes look so fierce and strong! Everything about this image looks powerful! First of all, thanks for entering my contest. This photo you have taken is really good and simple at the same time. all there is, is just one branch, a moth, and a nice clean background. But yet it still looks fabulous because it is so clear, the branch is so brightly colored, the background is nice, and the moth is amazing! The moth has those "eyes" that in this case, are Flaming Red! Then the wings are so cool how they look orange, and then the other details are nice too. It just goes to show that only two objects and a background can make the perfect picture! So awesome job! I really love it!

First of all, thanks for entering my contest. This photo you have taken here is something quite different from what I have ever seen before! I really can not even explain how cool it is to me. The whole thing looks like a Winter Scene! The moth is grey, the twig is grey, and the background is white, all the colors of winter, even the moth's eye is blue like snow! I think it is pretty neat how the moth's wing's perfectly camouflage the twig it is on. Another thing, is that these types of moths have always surprised me with how they like to hang off the edge of the thing they are grasping onto and sit there like that, they might even hang themselves by one leg sometimes! And one more thing that is so cool, is that this image could I think be considered an Abstract image! Because the moth has so many details and shapes on it, the branch looks weird, and the moth looks cool because you can only see one eye makes it more like an abstract image! So wonderful job on this photo and you deserved the Top Ten award very much!

And what is cool is that even the hummingbird moth's wings almost match the flower! So everything about this photograph is gorgeous! First of all, thanks for entering my contest. This picture is so cool with all the things in it. The moth is so interesting because it looks like tree bark! And the branches are lime green! Another thing that I like, is that the branches look like they are dividing the colors. On the top, there is blue, on the right side, there is white, and on the bottom, there is orange! It would be nice if the moth was a bit brighter so it would stand out more, but in a way, it is better to have the background colors stand out instead! So great job anyway!

First of all, thanks for entering my contest. This photo, is really amazing, even though it is a caterpillar, it is fine with me for my contest! This picture appears to me as really scary in a good way! The red hairs on the sides are crazy looking, the orange and black head, the legs that look like claws, really everything about this caterpillar looks like a monster! It is awesome! And I also really like the background colors, Aqua Marine, Orange, and Yellow. A nice mix of colors. And the caterpillar is so in focus! I never knew that a caterpillar could look so scary! Really Awesome Job! I love it!

This picture you have here is really cool, I like the bright yellow, the wavy brown lines, and also, it even looks like the white on the "eye" is light coming through a portal where the dark black color is! I really like it. So the reason why I am giving you a Highly Commendation is because there are so many elements in this image. Even though this picture is not showing the whole moth or more of it, which is what I was looking for, it is cool to add this photo to the contest's winners since it is different! So really awesome job with this image, I really like it!
