Great contest!

A 1/15th pan of a stunt riding ATV, you have absolutely nailed this shot! Great technique - I'm sure on another day you'd win this no problem. Some slightly dodgy looking cloning going on in the bottom right? I wouldn't mark you down for it, it just came down to personal preference an exceptional shot none the less.

I couldn't not include this image in the top 10, I'm sure you were kicking yourself about clipping the crash but opportunities to capture moments like this dont come around often and you have to be ready at the right time when it happens. No it's not the greatest photograph from an artistic sense but in terms of capturing the danger and energy of motorsport it does a great job.

I knew this would be a contender for the win the moment I saw it. You have captured a great moment with spectacular lighting that draws your eye straight to the rider. Personally, I might be tempted to crop a little off the bottom to give the image a wider aspect ratio but I'm nit picking, love it!

A Superb, sharp, action shot that really captures the energy of rallying. Great technical execution, I think it may have benefitted from having the car positioned a little more over to the right and maybe a little wider to get even more of that epic mud splash in frame.

I didn't expect to give motoX images my top two spots but I love the graphic quality of this image. Well done in the choice of black and white, generally it doesn't work all that well for motorsport, but when it's employed like this it looks great. Another shot that may benefit from a wider crop with marginally less foreground, but again a minor point.

A great triptych that nails the brief and demonstrates that the action in motorsport is not to be found solely in the racing vehicle - I like the story this sequence demonstrates and the pit crews never get the coverage they deserve. Good stuff, very very tough not to include in the top 10!

I was surprised not to see more light painting attempts in this challenge, this is a good example of the craft. You made good use of the Brooklands suite to give you a more appealing angle of the Luffield complex (especially with Silverstone being so flat). Perhaps cropping out some of the empty night sky to get a wider aspect ratio would help this a touch more (possibly also darkening the fence in the foreground a little to make the track and the lights free from distraction but that's just in my humble opinion)

Speed, energy and action are often defining characteristics of motorsport, capturing these themes as a photographer can be a challenge. This contest is about doing just that, submit your motorsport shots that manage to convey these traits in static images. Cars, bikes, planes even boats are welcome, the only stipulations are that your image must depict the energy of motorsports and shouldn't be faked in post production.
