Choosing to highlight only the instrument's silhouette - all that's truly necessary to reveal its nature - is a clever choice that adds an element of seduction to the image. The light is well placed, catching the trumpet's rim, (pleasingly sharp) with precision and gifting us with glimpses of its golden hue. The smoke adds interest and a final creative touch that makes the shot even more striking and memorable. This is a one-of-a-kind image that thoroughly deserves top 3. Well done!

A beautiful still life shot that evokes a sense of peace, harmony and brings to mind the scent of old music instruments. The success of a still life image relies on the photographer's ability to create the shot from scratch: from positioning the subject and choosing props, to composition and lighting, choice of background and much more. It's harder than it seems. But the mission was definitely accomplished in this shot, where all the elements were obviously carefully thought out. The violin and its bow, are well positioned diagonally across the frame; the books are pleasingly placed to balance out the image, and the light is pleasant and soft, highlighting details without creating distracting reflections. Lastly, the black background adds a more modern element that elevates the shot to a stylish photograph. A fantastic capture, well done!

This beautiful portrait immediately caught my attention. The amount of detail in it is captivating. I love how sharp the image is and how the strumming hand, however, appears gently in motion. The black and white toning cuts out all distractions, immediately drawing the viewer's attention onto the man's expression and all of his details: from the patterned turban, to his skin texture, to the intricate ornaments on the string instrument he's playing. This is a beautiful capture full of emotion and visual impact - a success indeed!
