Rusty colours of autumn building up intricate waves of colour, layers and layers of slowly sweeping peaks and curves. The longer I look at this image the more I see the individual intricate islands of varying shapes.

This slice of history is a piece of wonderful natural art.

This beautiful jewel like image with deep ocean colours instantly provoked thoughts of carved glass and ethereal beings.

I love the sweeping background of feathered curves and fading lines, this almost looks as if the water has been paused momentarily for this dance under the ice..

There is something a little space like in this image, the shooting comet and unusual landscape with limited colour.

The beauty of abstract art is that you can see whatever you want to see in any piece and each direction I tilt my head in gives a different story.

I love the depth of layering to these floating discs, I can't look deep enough into the darkness to see what lurks beneath. There is a slightly sinister feeling as the confusion of movement and perfection with distorted shapes feels like it could change in a moment.

This image inspired me to research Abraham Lake to understand what I was actually seeing here!

***This contest is open to subscribers (members on the Challenger, Pro and Master subscription tiers). However if you're not a paying subscriber you can still purchase entries for £2 (GBP) per image.*** Abstraction takes nature photography one step further, creating images that speak to the senses instead of just to the eyes. Rather than capturing the natural landscape as it is, natural abstracts use compositional elements to create a dialogue that invites the viewer to feel and interpret. Try it for yourself and explore a fresh, new take on the world around you.

This wash and turmoil of nature gives a rising confusion on the lower left showing that calmer times are ahead to the top right. The fur like quality of the waves almost gives an animalistic nature to the overall. I love the movement in this image, it feels like the exhalation of breath.

This is an image of 8 individual artworks, each section of the curves and dip seems as if we are looking through a forest of trees at trunk level.

The contrast of rusted orange and green almost push you to ignore the darker parts of the image. I could look at this for hours!
