The colour on that mountain top is spectacular! It also contrasts nicely with the green tones in the town below. You've done well to control the challenging lighting conditions of the fading light with the bright artificial light of the town. There is still plenty of details across the shadows and highlights. A wonderful perspective and a grand vista.
You have a great eye to see a magnificent simple abstract pattern amongst the chaotic detail of the trees and mountains. The three equally proportioned layers of blue, green and cyan work great together as a way to immediately attract the viewers attention to the photo without first seeing the details. I can imagine this image printed extra large on a wall and people slowly approaching it, seeing new details with each step. Right up to the point they're standing up close and counting how many people they can see on the shoreline.
Great use of the trees to create a natural frame for the lake, while also giving the viewer a "discovered" sense towards the view. The mirror finish on the water surface reflects the brilliant light, wispy clouds, and distant tree lined shore. The glistening sun piercing the leaves is a nice touch too. My only suggestion would be removing the aluminium can from the bottom left! Beautiful photo!
A great top down view with lots of details to explore. At first I thought it was taken from a drone until I saw the slight hint of a glass reflection, then I read that it was taken from a gondola. Great work to get a perspective like this from inside a gondola! A well balanced composition with a great abstract feel.
A well balanced composition with great depth and colours. The pier and boat create a central foreground that set the stage for the grand backdrop. With more than just the splendid mountain views, the colourful boat gives the viewer a chance to image floating out on the lake and exploring the scenery. There is a good balance of warm and cool tones across the frame as well. Good work!
A great visual representation of an epic adventure in a vast landscape. The vibrant yellow is immediately captivating, while the 4WD adds a story element to the scene. The road acts as a leading line in both directions. From the car and out into the frame, as well as from the distant plain to the campsite. The stormy clouds and distant sprawling mountains make an excellent backdrop.
An interesting urban scene that could work both as a landscape image and a wildlife one. The cormorant definitely stands out as the main subject of the photo, while the blurred, but recognisable, background of the London Eye gives a sense of place. While also making the bird feel like a small creature in a massively human world. Even the colours and overall tone of the photo give off an almost dystopian vibe. Excellent photo!
A great wildlife photo captured at the perfect moment. Unfortunately being a landscape contest I cannot award the image as it would had it been in an animal or wildlife contest. I highly recommend you enter this image in future contests to a more fitting brief. Please don't be discouraged in this instance by the lack of award. It's a great shot!
The texture of the water is spectacular. This is a wonderful representation of the feel of sailing down the Nile in a felucca. I love how the waters surface reflects and distorts the various sunrise colours, while the almost silhouetted sail of the felucca pierces up in the empty, but gorgeously gradient of the sky. Well done!
A well executed waterfall shot. Foreground interest, silky long exposure water, and multiple cascades ascending deeper into the forest. The exposure value is spot on to keep the finer details in the flow of water as well as those in the darker rocks. The mossy greens and lush foliage are vibrant and rich while still feeling natural. Well done!
A wonderful representation of the ocean in shape and colour. I love how the waves themselves create a sinusoidal curve that appears like a large wave as seen from the side. The parallel lines above the breaking waves add an extra visual element that almost looks like brush strokes on a painting. You have a great eye for the captivating!
A beautifully warm image with depth and detail. The terraced fields appear like an outdoor auditorium, set up to witness the spectacular view of sunset. The shapes and lines of lead the line towards the sun and through the valley, while the clouds keep the viewers attention within the frame. Great work!

I love how the subtle curve in the lupins give the impression of colourful dancers performing for the camera. The photo has Tekapo beauty all over it. The vibrant hues of the flowers pop out from the greens beneath and the blues and cyan in the background. The narrow depth of field allows the viewer to focus on the details of the flowers, while getting a sense of place from the distant mountains.
