A wonderful long focal length landscape image with a clear subject matter and calming mood. The overall exposure level is good as evident by the details in the bright sky and the shadowed coast. The reflection of light from the sunset brings out a gorgeous pattern in the relatively still water. The mix of cool tones in the shadows and warm tones in the highlights contrast well together. Great work!
A well executed long exposure of a waterfall. The almost smoky flow of water stands out against the dark rugged rocks surrounding it. The exposure level is good with minimal blown out highlights. The focus is spot on across the scene with details standing out from foreground to background. Well done!

A great use of empty space to highlight the smaller details of the scene. The expansive coastal view give the few people and buildings an almost miniature look. The grainy texture and muted colours offer the viewer a vintage feel. I can picture this image framed in a lobby of a building, admired for its artistic nature.
A well balanced composition of an awe inspiring view. The stretch of land reaching out in the foreground acts as a leading line towards the central gap in the shoreline. The slope of the hills on either side also accentuate this direction for the eyes. This is a photo I'd love to explore more at a higher resolution to enjoy more of the details. I hope you enter it in future contests with more pixels!
While the fallen over portable toilet can be seen as a comedic addition to the scene, it also tells a story of the landscape and moment. It's direction of collapse matches that of the lean to the vegetation in the background. This gives the wind an intensity that would not have been present with the reeds and bushes alone. The bright light combined with the darkness of the clouds speak of fast changing weather, and the constant threat of rain. Overall an interesting photo!
A great view down a cultivated path that brings humans in contact with the best of nature. The people strolling along the path, while small in the frame, play a huge roll in adding scale to the towering trees. The large trunk on the left feels even more immense when placed in context of the people. The tones of deep forest greens and the earthy browns look great too!
A fantastic bright snowy landscape with loads of fine details and a glare that feels natural to the eye. I find myself squinting at the scene as if I were really looking at a highly reflective snow covered mountainside. The scattering of vibrant green trees contrast nicely against the white snow. The little elements of human presence provide extra interest and a relatable sense of scale.
A great reflection shot with broad shapes and finer details. The overall exposure level is good with no blown out highlights or overly dark shadows. The main feature of the mountain shrouded in cloud dominates the view while allowing the viewers eye to explore the scene, and see the depth of the distant hills. The lighter erosion lines provide an extra layer of interest to the otherwise bleak slope. Well done!
A wonderful rural sunrise scene. The burgeoning light and colour in the sky contrasts against the dulled shadowy field. The line of fog through the centre of the frame highlights the perfectly positioned grazing cows, adding a quiet and docile sense of life to the image. If I look long enough, I can almost hear a distant drawn out "moo".
A wonderful display of colour and a well composed image. The human figures are perfectly positioned to silhouette against the bright glare of the sun. Adding a human element to the soft, dreamy nature scene. The pops of red contrast against the rich blue of the sky. A good balance of detail and empty space that keep the viewer engaged in the emotion of the scene.
A sublime coastal long exposure. The fiery red of the sky contrasts well with the blue grey of the smoky water. A few dark shapes emerge from the depths, while a scattering of rocks on the shore lay amongst the reflected light of the sky. The mix of jagged shapes and the flat wet textured surface of the rocky slabs stand out beautifully against the featureless water. Great work!
A great display of symmetry with a chaotic splash of water. The diminishing perspective of the pier does well to lead the eye deeper into the scene. There is a soft gradient in the sky behind the dusting of fluffy clouds. Timing the photo to capture the moment before the small wave breaks adds a dynamic tension to the scene. I do feel you could crop down the sky by about half, and still maintain the essence of the photo. It would remove the horizon from the centre of the frame, but allow the viewer to focus more attention on the main focus of the shot.

There is a great tonal range and fine contrast throughout this image. The brightest point of the photo is the sun baked mountain commanding the centre of the frame. This keeps the eye coming back to the middle after exploring the surrounding landscape. The exposure, subject matter, and contrast all work well in this well suited black and white image. My only minor suggestion would be to try and remove the large dust spot in the sky. It is hard to unsee once you know it's there and distracts from an otherwise great image.

A dreamy black and white scene. The hazy air scatters the light beautifully between the dark silhouette of the tree on the right, and the looming shape of the hill holding the backdrop. The small trees in the middle add extra interest to the scene, as does the hint of a shadow from an unseen source.
