Under the circumstances with your broken leg and helping out refugees you've done a good job to even get your camera out so well done. Its great to hear of your generosity and the wonderful human spirit you've shown by meeting refugees and making sandwiches. This photo and your story help us to restore our faith in humanity. Thanks for sharing and I hope the leg is better.
I love the ambiguity of this image. It's very intriguing and works so well not revealing the whole person looking through to camera. The foreground colour blocking out the majority of the image won't appeal to some but I think its bold and beautiful with the figure glancing through it. The colour grad/tone is great too. Your title 'In the moment' is perfect, you've certainly put the viewer in among the action. A great 'People' shot giving insight into the tradition.

That hair is amazing isn't it. I photographed this guy too last year. He's very friendly and approachable, loves having his picture taken and posts them on his instagram. You've caught his glance well but perhaps the backs of the other people distract from him a little. If you see him again, say hi and ask for his portrait!
Strong portrait this and with your description it gives it even more weight. Thanks for sharing it to the competition. I love the window light that your grandad is lit by, it's very soft and suits his thoughtful gaze. The black and white conversion gives it a timeless quality - great photo to remember him by.
This is a strong portrait and with a few tweaks I think you could strengthen it even further. The colour is a little green overall, try adding a little magenta in photoshop or lightroom to balance it or using the colour temperature tool. You say you've cropped it too, if there is any more headroom I'd try letting it breath with some more space at the top of her head. It's a great portrait, slightly unsettling, perhaps the because the woman is looking slightly down at camera.... thanks for submitting.
This is a fantastic scene you've captured. The light is fantastic and the composition really strong with a build up of layers. First the wrestlers, then the crowd and then the construction behind. The description is helpful so thanks for explaining what is happening in the image, Nuba is not something I'd heard of. Thanks for sending in to the competition. We hope to see more of these...
It's good to see such experimentation and creative expression submitted to the competitions. It feels like a traditionally printed montage where you've cut and stuck together then rephotographed. It has a very unique feel to it. Keep going on these, would make a great series - perhaps a fashion editorial experiment...
