What a stunning vista spread out below as your plane flies over the mountainous landscape. Looking to have been captured in the dawn light before the sun breaks through above the clouds. I love the snaking line of the mountaintops as they curve through the frame into the far distance. The soft pastel blues create a lovely mood. Great image, well done on your top ten placing.
A beautiful early morning shot of the North Norfolk coast, full of peachy pinky greys of the early morning light. A simple but attractive scene, with a boathouse on the dunes near the coast. The image creates a lovely mood of calm. The dim light somehow draws the viewer in, to try to peer through the dawn twilight to admire the scenery. Well done on your top ten placing.
This image may not turn out to be a crowd-pleaser, but there is something about it that I find quite fascinating. The subject matter is far from exciting, but that does not prevent it being full of interesting lines, patterns and textures. Bang on brief for this contest, there is not even the slightest hint of colour other than a deep muddy brown. The viewpoint, captured quite low to the ground, adds a great abstract feel too. Great image, well done on you top ten placing.
These are many very clichéd shots on Photocrowd of glass objects against some jazzy coloured backdrop, which are seen so often they become rather boring. Not so here however, as what we are presented with stands out as being quite different, so capturing the attention. Rather than simply relying on a colourful digital background to form the basis for the shot, here you have put in a lot of work to create the beautiful swirlling purpley patterns, and your effort has paid off with this creative still-life image. The set-up of the glassware is nicely balanced and focused, all-in-all a great shot. The title suits the image perfectly too. I hope you had great fun creating this image! Congratulations on your third place finish.
I find icebergs quite fascinating, and this stunning image does nothing to dull that fascination. Captured from a slightly unusual viewpoint, you have made the most of the lovely light as it falls across the ice, revealing the curves and patterns on this giant natural sculptural artwork. The deep icy blue colour is realistic, and is one of the many hues icebergs can take on. I also like that you have not been tempted to include any sky or sea, instead filling the frame with the ice so full focus is on the subject. Congratulations on your winning image.

This contest is for your photos that show just one colour throughout the image. The single colour can be any you choose; anything from a bright primary colour to a gentle pastel colour. Within the shot there can be different shades of the same colour. Some very tiny areas of black and/or white and other colour can be included but the various shades of just one colour must fill most of the entire frame. The subject is your choice, and can be anything such as landscapes, architecture, food, abstract or still life compositions. Please make sure your photo contains predominantly just one colour only across the entire image. Please do not enter photos where a single-colour subject is set against a plain background of a different colour, including black or white. I look forward to seeing your entries.
What a beautiful image, no doubt all the more spectacular in reality, as you made an early morning ascent to look down over the mist-shrouded hillside. The chilly blues are lovely and create a serene atmosphere. Lots of details to keep the viewer's attention, in the trees and buildings hovering above the mist. Superb capture, well done on your top ten placing.

A striking image (no pun intended!) With vibrant red filling the frame. Such a simple choice of subject, but captured in a creative composition such as this, the image becomes quite abstract, and the extreme close-up reveals plenty of textural details not normally seen. Great choice of aperture which has created a shallow depth of field that puts full focus in the foreground, whilst the match- heads further behind gently soften with distance. Great image, well done on your top ten placing.
I love the rich golden hues of this image, that looks to have been captured when the sun is low in the sky during the golden hour, which has intensified the oranges and brings a wonderfully vibrant feel to the shot. A simple head-on composition, but there are sufficient details contained within the image to hold the attention. The shadows add an additional element of interest too. Great work, well done on your top ten placing.
A pile of runner beans may not be the most exciting of subjects, but here they have been superbly captued to create a detailled and interesting image. Focusing is pin-sharp, which, combined with the lighting, shows all the tiny textural details which give the viewer a real sense of the subject, both in look and feel. Spot-on the brief for this contest, as the fresh green fills the frame. Congratulations on your second place finish.
