This challenge was both difficult and fantastic. It has an immense set of amazing photos, perfectly framed and coherent with the purpose of the challenge. Therefore, it was extremely difficult to choose a top 10, as can be seen by the amount of honorable mention choices. For the winning photo I chose this small flower with a perfect background, three colors and a beautiful final result. I really liked the impact that the photo causes and the risk assumed by the author. As I usually do, I apply my particular look and preferences and try to choose photographs that are a little distant from the traditional and that touch me. Congratulations to all participants. What a pleasure it was to judge this challenge!
Sometimes nothing more than simplicity is needed. This beautiful picture shows that. Unlike many photos present in the challenge, this takes me directly to nature even with the black background and I consider this very important. Perhaps that's why, even with many more elements than the rest, it seems to me extremely light and natural. Congratulations to the author!

I particularly liked the story behind the photo and the layers created by the different sections of the flower and the shapes of each. it's like a tree in the foreground, with grass moving in the background and a yellow sky in the background. There are photography that from a technical point of view are better achieved, but what a photo transmits to us is very important when I evaluate the challenges. Congratulations to the author.
I found this photo very interesting. The author took the risk of presenting a different work and I value it very much. I would like to see in the description an explanatory text of the techniques used and a text on what the photo means to the author would add even more value. Congratulations on your work.

For this contest I want to see your colour photos of one flower against a black background. Images must be in colour and can be captured in a studio-type setting or natural environment, as long as it has a clear and uniform black background. In my judging I will be looking for a sharp and well-focused flower, highlighted by the deep black background. Buds or partial blooms may be in the photo but focus must be on just one single flower. Please only enter colour photos, no black and white.
