Great contest!

I was in two minds about this image, as pencils are the main focus in a paint competition.....yet it also is held together by a paintbrush so is relevant. Then I thought about what the image was trying to convey, and it is all about colour and the ability to paint striped colours (stripey paint!). I love the textures and grungy feel, the post processing and composition have been very well managed. Well done!

A quick note to say well done, this image so very nearly made it into my top 10 and is highly commended within the commended section. I love the purple hue's with contrasting yellow, mixed with a great focus and attention to detail keeping the image vibrant and simple. Well done!

Another clever play on paint, and this wins my vote and place in the top 10 as I love the textures provided in this image. It's a feast for the eyes in both colour and texture. It also leaves me wanting to know more, where was this shot, what is it part of - all great questions to leave the viewer with. Well done!

A great play on the primary colours, using the rule of three's, with a very simple composition and added tool for a bit more to the image. The attention to detail is also great, particularly the way you have arranged the paint on the spatula. A very striking and eye catching image that I just had to add into my top 10. Well done!

Wow, what a striking image. The colour in here is fantastic, mixed with great emotion and timing. The yellows, oranges and pinks create beautiful contrasting colours, and the male subject provides great context and texture. A well deserved and clear winner for me, despite there being some very tough competition. Well done!

I loved this image as soon as I saw it, hence the reason for picking it as the competition main image. This image provides not only great colour palettes and subject but a feeling of human senses, a sense of squishyness (if that is a word!) between the foot and paint. A quality image and great idea, well done!

There were many images like this, carefully thought, well composed and executed in the competition. But this one, this one is a 'wow' image for me. The timing, quality and range of colours is stunning - great work and an image that must have taken many attempts to get right! I applaud your patience. Well done!

They call him Mr Goldfinger....(oh I love the old Bond classics!). Simplicity and quality wins it every day for me, this image is superb. The attention to detail is great providing a very stylistic engaging image, and I especially love the drips of gold running off the fingertips. A great image, well caught, well done!

A quick note to say well done, this image so very nearly made it into my top 10 and is highly commended within the commended section. I'm a big fan of these miniature world figurines in photography, they always bring a smile to my face. The story is great here with use of blue paint like it is water creating a very interesting scene and perspective. Well done!

I love the DIY store paint aisle with its vast array of colours, so this contest is dedicated to paint - paint pots, decorators/decorating, artist paints, old paint, new paint, peeling paint, fresh paint - the choice is yours! Depict 'paint' in your very own creative way! Please note that this is all about colour, so no black & white images. Also I do not want painting with light images. Good luck.
