In this contest I look forward to seeing your photos captured using the panning technique, where all or part of the main moving subject has the sharpness to hold the eye of the viewer, but the blurred parts of the image convey movement. The basic idea behind panning as a technique is that you follow your camera along in time with the moving subject and end up getting a relatively sharp subject but a blurred background. The purpose is to give your image a sense of movement, as opposed to an image taken with a very fast shutter speed which gives you a sharp image, but one that looks fixed or static. An image where everything is blurred falls into the intentional camera movement (ICM) genre of photography and should not be entered into this contest.
