This stark and almost blinding image captures evocatively the movement of people in the city of New York. The eye is drawn to the gentleman in the wheelchair who is sitting motionless while everyone moves on around him. The brightness of the location gives an almost antiseptic feel to the image but the softer tones of the pictures on the walls gives a gently colour wash.
What drew me to this image was the colour toning of the edit. The dust thrown up by the racing bike helps creative an evocative image of this sport. I also like the positioning of the motor bike and that it is not obscured by the ground in the lower half of the picture allowing us to clearly see the machine against the lighter background.
There were many surfing entries to the competition but I feel this one is the best. in my top ten choices. There is a beauty found in the image of the wonderful shapes and colours created by the large wave and yet somehow there is a moment of stillness as the surfer moves under the crest of the wave. A wonderful image.
A very well taken picture completely in focus even though the swimmer has obviously just taken her backward leap. The red lane dividers against the blue help the colour aspects of the picture. I think the slightly elongated ratio of the photograph also has helped created this sporting moment perfectly.

I love this picture for the atmosphere that has been created with the dancer standing out so clearly against the darker background of the buildings. The movement of the dancer's feet in her red shoes helps exaggerate the movement of the figure. I also like the angle at which the photograph has been taken showing the street below the leaping dancer. The be very picky I would tried to have the dancer slightly more to the left and centred to the grey building behind.

There were many dramatic surfing pictures entered many which were of high quality. However this image dramatically captures the dangers inherent n the sport and the photographer has captured the perfect moment when things have gone wrong for the surfer. I also like the fact that the whole image is almost entirely made up of the wave and shows the power of the sea.
This is a really impressive image. It reminds me of those kaleidoscope toys I had as a child where as you turned it different shapes appeared. The curve of the dress as it sweeps down is perfect. My one issue is that the whole of the picture apart from the dancer has been edited to blur. I think personally it may have been better to keep some of the ground in focus but a personal point of view.

I would like to see your photos of one or more people moving in some way. They could be moving under their own steam such as walking, dancing, playing sport, etc. or being moved by something like a motorbike, fairground ride and so on. No photos of people just sitting or standing around. Images can be in black and white or colour.
Meet the judge
This is a very cleverly created image which captures brilliantly the feeling of movement of the figure. The choice of a red skirt helps the model pop out and the light on the figure on the extreme left is excellent. The only thing I find slightly disconcerting is the line that can be seen just above the figure's torso and which continues into the body.
