Well spotted. This senior gentleman with his cane makes the perfect subject as he appears to exit the gallery. In his dark clothing he makes an excellent contrast with the subtle high key tones of the art display. This image reminds me of Shakespere's most frequently quoted passage "All the world's a stage and all the men and women merely players. They have their exits and their entrances" Excellent well composed shot, congratulations on making my number one selection.

Meet the judge

A beautifully observed and captured moment. The gentleman tilts his head and shoulders to read Marat's letter and forms a mirroring effect with Marat. To me this is perceived as an act of sympathy and compassion, even though I know he is simply reading the letter it still forms a strong interaction between the art and the viewer. I can imagine that this is a natural inclination to read the letter in this painting, so that the possibility of this shot may repeat itself but you were in the right spot at the best angle to take this shot. Well spotted and congratulations on making my top ten.

A nicely composed shot of a art gallery viewer studying Carl Bloch's painting "In a Roman Osteria". The girl is exactly positioned to show an interaction between Art and viewer. The image has a narrow depth of field which places the emphasis on the girl and helps to add a more realistic feel to the shot. The frame of the painting could pass as an entrance door frame like an entry into another time. Well composed image and congratulations on making my top ten.

I am immediately drawn to this image by the contrast and color. I do not know if this shot is candid or posed but it works on all levels. The contrast of the painting against the dark paneling, The high contrast of the figure against the paneling, the color of his legs similar to the artwork. His relaxed pose in contrast to the dramatic painting. The square aspect ratio works perfectly, just taking in the paintings frame. Judging by your camera settings the conditions were difficult but you have managed to take an outstanding image. Well done and congratulations on making my top ten.

An excellent capture of two senior ladies interaction with Art. To me this image tells a story. It does not tell the complete story because the sculpture that they are viewing is out of the frame. This makes the story more compelling. What are they discussing? Is it religion based? they stand very close, only half headshots of both, their concentration evident. Well framed and nicely processed, congratulations on making my top ten.
