These mountain climbers must see some excellent views when climbing as you can see with your image you have to have a good head for hight's and they certainly live life on the edge. I really like the way you framed this image with the rock climber on the thirds looking into the scene. Well done in getting 6th.
I did not imagine I would pick this type of image for my 3rd place but when it come up I just new it would probably be in my top ten. A shot of a protester and a police special forces officer it certainly fits the brief people living life on the edge for both the protester and the police it's a good composition and a well timed image where the policeman is looking over his riot shield at the protester. Well done in getting 3rd
I've tried photographing these people do tricks with their motor bikes like your shot but not as good as this one, you were lucky to haver a nice day with the blue sky which sets the shot off well, i also I like the tight crop. How these people train and get the confident to do these type of tricks I will never know hanging upside down in the air holding the handlebars of his bike he's certainly living life on the edge. Well done in getting 9th place.
Your right in the thick of it with this image you can almost taste the mud coming of the sidecar. It certainly fits the brief people living life on the edge, the sidecar racer is leaning right on the edge of the sidecar their is so much action going on plus it is really sharp, I also like the choice of shutter speed, although you used a fast shutters speed of 1/1000 to freeze the action you can still see some motion on the front wheels. Well done in getting 1st.
The eye contact on this image won it for me as well as the light hitting the dirt in the background of this speedway rider Steve Boxall he is staring right down your lens, also correct if I am wrong but speedway bikes don't have brakes which means they race around a dirt track as fast as they can with no brakes there is a lot of skill involved and I am sure some mishaps. Well done in getting 10th place.
