Capturing an expansive natural landscape is always a challenge. The depth of field in this shot is truly incredible. The surfers in the foreground provide a scale for the large rock formations in the background and capture the spirit of people and their environment. The scene perfectly captures surfers at the beach and the waves that previously broke along the shoreline.

The artistic nature of capturing the sun through the trees to shine down on a peaceful fox makes this shot beautiful. The use of a slow shutter speed on a wildlife shot is very clever and created a tranquil scene that utilized the sun's rays as leading lines.

The colony of King Penguins is truly a unique and captivating scene. Upon closer inspection of the photo, I was impressed by the sheer number of penguins in the scene, extending beyond my line of sight. The two brown penguins standing in a crowd at the foreground of the shot make a strong contrast against the countless, white-bellied King Penguins. The snowy atmosphere created a dramatic scene of penguins persevering in a harsh environment, a reminder of the unforgiving conditions in South Georgia.

There is something truly special about high key wildlife photography. The polar walking with its wet fur across the white snow all alone is a beautiful minimalist scene. The photograph displays the stunning differences in the bear's wet fur and its semi-dry face. The depth of field and fast shutter speed makes the subject even more epic.
