I was surprised by the lack of women represented in this competition so when I saw this shot it did get my attention straight away. I love the concentration of the woman and the organized chaos of the surrounding room. The edit is great too, it allows enough of the details of the shop to be present without taking away from the focus of the main focal point. Great work and thanks for sharing.
I really like this image. The black and white processing is also great and works well to capture the movement of the food he is preparing. I like that you can see the concentration and intent of the cook and the kitchen in. The background works well contributing to the narrative. Thanks for sharing this image and looking forward to seeing more of your work in the future.
Surprisingly there was actually more than one glassblowing entry for this competition but this one in particular caught my eye. The motion blur illustrates the constant movement of the artist perfectly and the processing helps make the scene more dynamic. Thanks for sharing and congrats on the top 10 spot.
I love this shot. The contrast between the party in the background and the workers diligently working away in the foreground is great. And the light exposure at the back and darker at the front also seems to further emphasis the divide between both groups. Thanks for sharing this and entering the competition.
I was immediately drawn to this shot as I really felt it embodied the spirit of the competition.
The composition is really interesting too, I start with the worker at the front, his look of determination to complete what is a physically demanding task and then it slowly slides back to the boat in the background, dominating the horizon but also providing more to the story. Great shot, fantastic storytelling and congrats on taking the top spot.
