The harmonious colour scheme and the rule of thirds make this a balanced photograph. The depiction of the husky in nature combined with the blurred snowflakes was a great decision. We especially like how the sky on the left side of the photo becomes a little brighter. It draws the viewer's eye from the dog to the rest of the photo.

We all love our furry friends but shooting a characterful portrait is not as easy as it sounds. For this round aim to capture the personality of your pet, using creative exposures and compositions. Think outside the box.

Animals are a huge inspiration for photographers and it can be easy to assume that it's impossible to take a bad shot of a cat with the cuteness factor. However a top-down view of your pet is not the most exciting perspective possible. We see pets like this all the time. For a shot with more energy, don't shoot from head height - lower the camera to get down to their level and build a connection with your furry friend!

A cute animal and a beautiful background - what's not to love right? All the components are here, we're just missing one vital element: eye contact. Having your subject gaze into the lens helps build a strong connection between the animal and the viewer of your images and adds extra energy. Well done - just try this next time!

A great moment was captured here. Both dogs are bursting with energy and seem very happy. We like the dynamics of the image, yet the shot could benefit from a little less depth in the surroundings. However, this is only an aesthetic point and a matter of taste! What we particularly like here is the attention to detail. The dirty paws have been included and not deliberately banned from the picture. This element adds storytelling to the picture and makes the viewer think.

A beautiful shot that captivates with the incident light. This stylishly brings out the texture of the fur in a natural way. The photograph might benefit from adding some blur to the background. This brings the main protagonist of the shot further into focus. The reflection in the eyes is very detailed and enhances the shot.

Here the shutter was pressed at the right time! The unique moment has been captured and the incoming light makes the dog's fur shine. As for the main character, it would be worth considering increasing the blur in the background as the background is busy and may distract from the dog. What we particularly like about this shot is how precisely the fur of the ears has been worked out and the visible reflections in the eyes.

Through this atmospheric light of the sunset, the dog's fluffy ears are perfectly staged. The dept of field is stunning and draws the focus to the dog. It is very difficult to create such a balanced shot with the available light and a moving dog - well done!

This strong dog portrait, is a successful visual realisation of the pet’s character. The lighting clearly emphasises the heroic aspect and brilliantly brings out details. The chosen colours give an artistic touch and make us wonder where the cape has gone. The powerful view out of the frame suggests that the next mission is already calling.

A very stylishly realised photograph that captivates with its colourfulness. The sharpness creates an interesting interplay with the blur. The background is cleverly chosen and is based on the colour of the cats' fur. The colour of their eyes is skilfully taken up here. The toy is involved in the situation and brings a tense atmosphere into the shot. Here we would think that a different coloured toy would perhaps enrich the photograph. The colour of the toy matches very well - but this can also be in the aesthetic interest. The photograph is balanced and a great moment of the two cats has been captured in a very thoughtful way.

Sometimes we wonder what goes on in the minds of our cats - and this one is definitely focused and plans the next step. The atmospheric light and attention to detail almost make the portrait look like an 18th century still life painting. The background accentuates the light and the cat is stylishly staged in the tense moment.

We think that this playful idea, which combines creativity and technical knowledge, reflects the cat's character in a unique way. The light attracts the cat's curiosity and highlights its eyes. The composition is clear - the round light frames the scene and the light becomes an almost graphic element within the photograph.

In this contest thinking out of the box was essential. The photograph reflects this thinking and picks up on the colour of the main protagonist. The only thing which could be slightly improved is the separation of cat and background by the brightness of the colour. The entire photograph appears almost black and white and minimalistic. Through the choice of colour, the cat's eyes clearly stand out!

This shot is different - and we like different! The interesting composition of the shot makes the photo very artistic and almost abstract. We like how the crack line leads to the cat and that you include negative space. The choice of black and white is particularly appealing and every element in this shot is straight and well composed.

In this shot the two characters of two visually very similar dogs are clearly visible. The set up is very professional and the background and lighting are cleverly chosen. The background picks up the fur texture of the two friends and the light emphasises the eyes and fur. A very nice classic shot that could perhaps gain depth by creatively adding a toy or props. What we particularly like about this photograph is the captured moment when both dogs react differently in their nature. It's already difficult to get the attention of one fuzzy main character, and then two? This shows sensitivity and control over the technical set up.

We love the dynamic range of this shot. It was a good decision to shoot against the sun as it makes the snow look mystical and brings out the snowflakes in the middle of the picture. The foreground is quite present and it might be worth considering trying a different crop to focus even more on the two fluffy friends. You pressed the shutter at the right moment - both dogs are looking out of the frame and we wonder what they are watching.

The light and shadow situation in this photograph is very interesting and in our opinion emphasises the colouring of the cat's fur. We like very much that the brightest point of the photograph is the cat's face. This draws the viewer's attention directly to the most important element of the photograph. The drop shadow in the upper right half of the image reinforces this. In our opinion, the clearly structured photograph is only slightly disturbed by the orange element next to the cat. Perhaps the colour could be reduced a little in post-processing so that the viewer does not wonder what this element could be when looking at the picture for a longer time. The leaves on the left are a great addition to the shot and give it something natural and momentary. Despite the strong sunlight, the structure of the fur is clearly visible and not overexposed.
