Photographing your area

A captivating and colourful image from Myanmar which is worthy of 1st place in our contest. We were struck by the strong composition, repeating patterns and vibrant colours. Excellent photo and congratulations on winning the contest - we hope you enjoy your Snapp Guides!

A fantastic top down perspective which illustrates the hive of activity that is a floating market. We were struck by the vibrant colours of the market fruits and vegetables, the attire of the vendors and the boats themselves. Well done on being a finalist in our contest!

Drone images are difficult to judge against traditional photographs because they benefit from the 'wow' factor of an aerial perspective that is rarely seen. However this image also has an excellent composition, great lighting and post-processing (if there has been much of this) is very naturally done. As a viewer I really get a sense of the warmth and depth to the image. The long shadows tell me it's a sunrise or sunset image. Well done on making our shortlist

A well executed lightpainting image which is nicely exposed and processed. It just misses out on our shortlist as it doesn't convey a sense of place as strongly as other images in the contest, but it certainly deserves an honourable mention for its technical challenge.

A classic Berlin skyline composition combined with excellent timing to capture the lightning strike makes this an excellent photo - well done! The post processing is nicely done to avoid blown highlights or harsh contrasts which is an easy mistake to make with an image like this. Keep up the good work
