#7 You can see from my other top 10 picks I love the eyes right through the lens but you captured my imagination here with a very different look. Your lighting, the set and her looking away has me wanting to know her thoughts. Fantastic work.

#8 Her glasses, the phone, the switchboard (?) and the bokeh of the people sitting and waiting so much to put this together but her eyes looking like “what now?” is what put this in my top 10.
I hope you have many more.

#3 EYES, Hair, Freckles the dress/blouse did I say her eyes? The crop is tight enough to see her details but far enough that you don't lose those curls! She kills it and I hope she loves this photo. Wonderful portrait.

#2 Confidence and the eyes put this to #2. OK I’m not going to pretend that she’s a photographer and that didn't help sway this up the top 10 a bit. But seriously and can feel this scene and I love this photo.

#1 Trust, to me, is the number one ingredient to portraits. Here you both trusted each other and together, made a stunning photo. She is beautiful at 81 as she no doubt was at 18. Even though for me the choice was not easy this one pulled away as my Number 1 of 1,000 photos. Congratulations!!!

#10 I loved this picture before and now I got to see it up against 999 others. She still ranks high even though I normally would want a little less bokeh, this is wonderful as is. You both made this work magic.

#6 This is how I wish many of my portraits would turn out. I love the tight tight crop.

Another portrait that makes me want to see more of the session and I imagine this as part of a series. Great work both of you!

#5 Absolutely worthy of a Sports Illustrated cover! I imagine you are laying at the edge of the pool and probably getting a bit wet yourself, it was worth it! Nothing else I can say but that and thanks for entering this tremendous portrait.

#4 An Honest Portrait! Who needs makeup when you can look right through the lens like this? You risked the background being distracting but the 1.8 took care of any issues that might have presented.

Great work by both of you and I would love to see more from this session.

#9 Eyes straight through the lens and a great mix of light and the jewelry just work wonders. I love that she posed for you and I would love to hear the rest of the story. That's what makes great portraits; that we want to know more.
