Of course the eyes pull me in but the pose is wonderful. no shirt adds to the mystery, is he in a pool is he in a spa or just posing naked? The viewer wonders The watch and black spot on his face are slight distractions. But to be clear I only even notice them because the eyes and pose keep me looking. There is such honesty in this portrait. The story I create is she has seen a lot, a lot. She has come through better and wiser and has a lot of wisdom to give the world. The stories I can make up in my head about this image are endless. Is this an impromptu set? Did he want the portrait to be taken or was he just thinking ah ok I will let them? I absolutely want to pull up a chair and talk to him. His stare, the blend of colors I also believe the photographer really wanted to take his portrait. Well done. I adore this photo.

What would have been a solid portrait becomes great by adding the ball. It pulls me in. Does he live in his glory days? Or just reminded from time to time. He's so well dressed but I wonder if he is wishing he could play one more game with his friends.
