Again, as always, my thanks to those who took the time to enter this competition - abiding by the brief in the process. Onto the winning image...which fits the brief perfectly and represents exactly what I was after. It works really well in B&W and contains just the right amount of detail with the high contrast throughout complementing the shot really well...and all against that wonderful backdrop of the 3 windows. Wonderful and my thanks for your entry.
Yet another black and white shot entered which I really like. Contrast and sharpness, in my opinion, are both superb and I just love the areas throughout this image that have been lit by what appears to be bright sunlight coming through a window which contrasts perfectly with the darker areas of the shot. Well done, and my thanks for your entry.

Let me see your photographs of the inside of a bar or a pub, with the emphasis not on detail but on the wider picture of the whole bar. No cafes or restaurants please, just bars or pubs. I look forward to seeing and judging your entries.
Every town has an Irish pub right? I always seemed to track them down in a previous life and was never disappointed. I even managed to find one in Florence, Italy!! I particularly like the composition on this shot, with just the right amount of detail coming through in the darker areas. This bar has character in abundance which leaves me wondering - what are Friday and Saturday nights like in here? Well done, and my thanks for your entry.
Yet another shot in the top 10 that represents exactly what I was hoping to see and which, of course, fits the brief perfectly. Composition is spot on, and I just love the light coming through the windows and lighting up the interior. Although I think it works well in Sepia I do wonder if black and white - or even colour - would have worked just as well... if not better? Each to their own of course. Well done, and my thanks for this entry.
Another shot which fits the brief perfectly and working particularly well in B&W. I love the narrative here -a simple and well-spotted shot that tells a story of friends getting together for a good chin-wag. Brilliantly composed and caught at the right time - topped off with the lady centre-shot deciding it's time to go. Lovely and my thanks for your entry.
