Pylons and Masts

April 2023

There were a lot of photos of electricity pylons taken straight on but you were the only person who thought of doing a long exposure. It was a great idea and really made your picture stand out. Nice idea and well executed with just the right shutter speed.

Lovely atmospheric image. There were several misty landscapes entered in this competition but this was definitely my favourite. The pylons are a dominant feature which made it stand out. Maybe having something near the camera and out of focus at the bottom of the frame would have added more to the image but its a great shot. Well done

Absolutely love the composition of this image - the horizontal and diagonal lines work so well with the curving electricity cables above. And good choice off setting the pylon from the centre of the frame. It might have been nice to see a bit more of the pylons behind maybe?

Stunning photo of the low morning mist over the Sussex fields. It is one of my favourite sights. The pylons are a little too subtle for me in the context of this competition given the title of it but I still love the photo.

Their angular construction is often contrasted with natural surroundings, and in some cases they are even now designed to blend in with those surroundings.
