I could immediately identify with this image having spent several nights there. You've chosen to focus on the platform and canopy which makes for an interesting and less common view. I like the low view point as this provides visual interest and scale. There weren't too many night images but in my opinion you have handled it well. The image looks to have been nicely post processed. Congratulations on gaining a top ten place.
There were quite a number of images of Kings Cross, mostly of the new lattice interior. It was therefore good to see an image of Cubitt's station as a complete picture. The lines in the paving lead us nicely up to the facade whilst the people give us a sense of scale. There are enough people to convey a sense of this being a busy station but without diverting attention away from the building. There is a good tonal range in the image. Congratulations on gaining a top ten place.
A good wide angled view of one of Paris' many terminal station. The view looking down is well chosen, enabling the viewer to comprehend the width of the train shed whilst the platform is a leading line emphasising depth. There weren't too many toned images but I really like the effect on this image. Congratulations on gaining a top ten place.
It was good to see a number of images of smaller and less well known stations entered into the contest. I like this image because it gives me an idea of the station without revealing too much and makes me want to explore. I liked the composition of including some of the patterns on the platform surface and the long leading lines they create to draw the viewer into the image. We see a small amount of the station buildings, but the image is composed well enough with visual clues to indicate that this is a bigger place than it initially appears. Congratulations on gaining third place.
As expected Grand Central was a popular choice as subject matter for this contest. Most were similar in terms of composition but I gather that is rather imposed upon photographers. This image stood out from the rest of the Grand Central images because of the sunlight streaming through the windows. It gives this image that extra lift. Nevertheless you have managed the exposure and contrast well. Although many of the people are static there are enough movement blurs to give some life to the image. Congratulations on gaining a top ten place.
This image stood out for me partly for its striking composition but also for the lightness of the image whilst having a good tonal range from pure white to pur black. The blacks are black without being inky. There is good detail in the light tones. The curved leading line of the platform canopies to the left lead the viewer deeper into the image. Congratulations on producing a great image and for winning the contest.
It was good to see an image from a part of the world that we don't see too often. This looks to be a smallish suburban station but this has allowed you to include all of the operational parts. Although a nice image as it is I think some dodging and burning (if you have access to post processing software) would provide a bit more depth and also bring out some of the details in the shadows. Congratulations on gaining a top ten place.

This contest is for your photos showing the architectural details of railway station buildings. You may include the concourses and platform areas so long as they are accessible to the public. The stations may be currently in use or may be on a preserved/heritage railway. Please do not enter any images of abandoned stations or station buildings that are now used for other purposes. You may include people or trains, but the clear focus of your image should be the architecture. Images may be wider angles or you may want to get close in to some interesting architectural detail. Your image should be monochrome. That includes black and white, or tones like sepia or cyanotype. Please do not enter selectively coloured images in this contest. To be eligible for judging please include the location of the station in the title or description, not in hashtags. In the interests of fairness please do not include any means of identification within your image, title, description or hashtags.

Oriente station was another popular location for submitted images. Most people elected to show the whole to a greater or lesser extent. However I liked this image because it shows off the striking architecture of the arches really well. The low view point works very well and the rails act as leading lines drawing us through the colonnade of arches. This was another night shot that has been handled really well. Congratulations on gaining a top ten place.
