Dramatic and well composed shot showing the power of the locomotive. The framing between the trees and exhaust works well along with the low viewpoint and your decision to let the train come well into the frame. A good choice for a shot of a 9F.

An image full of atmosphere and with a story to tell, which was undoubtedly what the photographer and organisers were trying to achieve (I've been on similar shoots at this location!). Exposure captured very nicely and good positioning of your camera/tripod to get a composition that includes the various people in the background in good positions to help the overall image.

Well balanced composition and good use of the colour and black & white mixed technique in post production, this works nicely here. The photographer has been very careful with placement of the various elements, in particular the railings on either side of the platform entrance.

A nice attempt at a station shot with trains on either side, but for me it misses out because of the curved railings on the bottom left being too strong a distraction. Maybe it was possible (difficult to say from here) to move forward and get a similar composition without the railings? It certainly caught my eye, but just needs a bit more on the positioning and composition to work properly and perhaps win a prize in future.

WINNER Very good use of the available light and back lighting to create a great effect. I also like the placing of the loco in the composition so its not affected by the telegraph poles alongside. The light on the adjacent field also lends something to the image. I might have been tempted to crop slightly from the right side to bring the loco more into the traditional third of the picture, perhaps up to the background trees, but that is not a huge issue. Nice, well done.

Excellent technique employed in this image to produce a really striking result which I like a lot. A great advertising image I'm sure. To have "seen" this opportunity in advance was quite an achievement to be able to see the two shots and the potential of blending them together. Well done.

I like the well balanced composition here, a great deal of thought has gone into this image and it works well. I like that you appear to have taken care to position yourself at the right height on the steps to include the information screens and platform numbers fully and how the tracks appear from behind the railings in the same position both sides.

A very well executed model train shot made to look like the full size thing and it achieves its aim very well I think. Strong use of depth of field to make the main point of interest, the locomotive, stand out. Good stuff, well done. Looks like a great model rly!
