Retouch - Composite Images

A well composed image with interesting characters and strong narrative. The placement of the main subject with others in a supporting role gives a well balanced image. The muted tonal range and colours work well and the tornado and clouds have been placed and combined very well.

This is my winner in the competition and rightly so.

The central composition of the Commander and space craft added drama and impact and made for a strong composition.

The muted tones against the strong orange of the Commander gave good separation for the Commander from the rest of the image and left the viewer in no doubt what was the main focal point in the frame.

The partly hidden space craft also was carefully crafted and being partly hidden did not fight for attention with the Commander.

The subtle use of light and blur finessed this image well.

If I needed to make a suggestion, it would be to burn down the whites or remove them from the stone the Commander stands on bottom right, but I'm nit picking.

I really enjoyed this image which has a great concept and execution. The faces are random but sit together well and the eye jumps from one to the other and back again and is enjoyed over and over. An engaging image and rightly deserving of its HC, well done to the author.

I really enjoyed this image and though the concept and execution were good. The image is high impact and the unusual combination of using the person as a tunnel is quirky but also though provoking. The handling of the clouds has been done well and the colour palette used a good choice.

This image leaves me wondering what the persons story is, are they waiting or merely watching? The partial view of the face adds tension and drama with the shattered window and rustic building adding additional interest. It is a mysterious image that has been well handled. Well done.

I commend the author of this image for not only putting together a well constructed head graft, but beyond that for perhaps sharing with the viewer an indication to the world of the young person. Perhaps the dog is theirs? The inclusion of the Batman logo perhaps indicating their movie preference. The colour palette works well, great expression on the dog and an all round enjoyable image to view, well done.

Great expression on the person in this high impact image. The sense of drama and distress pours forward and the placement of the man and shark works well. The restricted use of strong contrast and lighting to the face only leaves me in no doubt where the author wants me to look.

An intriguing image with strong lead in lines taking the viewer on a journey to the main focal point of the image. The monochrome conversion and strong contrast add drama and strength to the image. The moody sky with light area around the person is a great finishing touch.

An image I enjoyed a lot. The concept and execution has been done well and the blues play the warmer tones well. Good composition and the author has left enough space for the image to breathe and resisted cropping in too tight. Good sharpness throughout and worthy of its HC award.

Congratulations to the author for creating such a thought provoking image tackling a subject that needs to constantly in the publics eye. The narrative is strong and can be interpreted in a number of ways but the underlying message is the same. The construction of the image has been well thought through and the use of the shadow is superb. Well done!

A well handled image with a movie like feel. Colour palette consistent throughout with the aircraft placement suiting the overall look. Good use of blur to the props and background giving a realistic look to the image. Well done, great image.

Strong narrative and the simplicity of the image was its strength. The colour palette suited the mood well and the central placement of the reflected image creates drama which is supported by the person on the left. The part concealment of the faces left me wanting to know more about what had caused so much upset to this person. Well done, a great image capturing human emotion.

Great concept and I enjoyed viewing this image. The face on the person smiling adds so much to the picture and the shadow depicting what the imagination of the youngster is thinking is a great touch. A well balanced image with good composition and the monochrome conversion adding to the overall look.
