Running

In a category that can be full of the more predictable type of image you would associate with this subject, the photographer has produced a uniquely original, stunningly creative photograph. An image that evokes a scene out of a classic tale, film or novel. The subject who we are unable to see, running away from camera, into an interestingly lit backdrop increases this dream-like narrative; and the billowing dress gives it drama and action and tension, yet it is also beautifully lit. A worthy winner!

What an interesting way to approach this subject - the lighting and composition marrying together perfectly to say something completely new visually.. Like the photographer said, providing fill-in flash to lift the subject from the background, made so much more interesting by depicting it as a silhouette.d landscape. And keeping the photograph elements by having it as a black and white photograph. A truly ingenious. image. Well done.

A nice image evoking summer, that might need the photographer to try different versions, like using a longer lens on a shallower depth of field to isolate the subjects, or taking the photo from a lower angle to get the feel of the lush grass that the children are running through. Very nice though.

Wow, thats picture power, as they say. Action, drama, colour. This picture really does jump out at you and that's what all the best photographs do. The wide angle capture from below increases the dynamic element to the image, as well as the splash of red in mid flight interrupting the blue and white theme over the rest of the frame. What a stunning place this must be. The clouds seem to come in to the centre of the frame pointing to where the temple is situated as the monk is running towards it.
