Very cool photo! I like that the salamander is partially obscured and it looking like it is emerging from the water. The bright yellow spots stand out well against the dark background and bring the focus directly to the salamander. The water around the salamander looks silky which adds to the effect.

Great photo! I love that the salamander is looking directly at the viewer and it’s super cool that you were able to get the photo while the salamander was in the water. The water adds a a nice glossy effect.

Great photo! I love how the green on the salamander matches the green moss. The texture of the moss looks so feathery and soft which complements the smooth speckled salamander well. The marbled/speckled on the salamander looks so cool too.

Very cool photo! There is lots of great detail on the salamanders face and eyes. I also like the warm background colors and the bright orange spots on the salamander. Thank you for submitting to my competition and congrats on 2nd place!

I love the character in this photo! Very unique! Most of the pictures submitted were top down or at eye level of the salamander so it was cool to see this low angle where the salamander is actually observing us from above.

Wonderful composition and colors! This is one the most creative photos submitted. I love how the salamander is emerging from the hole in the log and how it is standing parallel to the lines on the wood. The dark background make the bright spots on the salamander really stand out as well as the texture on the wood.
