Schnauzers

What a wonderful picture - a deserved winner of my Schnauzer contest. With all the shots entered oozing charm and character, I almost felt bad having to pick out a winner among all the adorable Schnauzers on show but I loved the expression and calm simplicity of this image. As a Schnauzer owner myself I recognise that deep look into your eyes and the use of the wide aperture has focused attention on the eyes beautifully. Add to that the gorgeous muted colour palette and the perfect simplicity of the photo with no distractions in the frame, I make this my winner - congratulations!

The brilliant simplicity of this image caught my eye and you can feel the energy of the running in the cold. The silhouette effect works very well and add the splash of the disturbed snow and you have a fine image.

Lovely simple image, all the attention focused on the gorgeous features of this adorable Schnauzer. Rolf's amazing eyelashes are caught perfectly and I recognise that look of Schnauzer determination from having one of my own! The shallow depth of field with the soft background completes a lovely image.

Just a wonderful image. makes me laugh every time I take a look. Black and white has proved very effective and the Disney and Schnauzer ear combo is wonderful. I love the way the Schnauzer appears determined not to be upstaged by the fellow on the left.

Great timing to achieve this image, bursting with fun and energy. Schnauzers love this kind of activity and the photo conveys it so well. To capture one leaping at the right moment but achieving two is quite a feat. Their expressions complete a fine image.

Tremendous image and every Schnauzer owner will recognise that look, even at such a tight crop. Black and white has worked very well, showcasing the different textures evident in the nose, beard and teeth, a carefully considered piece of photography.
