Seals and Sea Lions in the Wild

I liked the way that you captured the inquisitive nature and also the reflection at the water / air interface.

You managed to get the streamlined shape that makes these animals while ungainly on land such powerful and agile swimmers, I also appreciated the difficulty you had in taking and composing this shot well done

The appealing eyes are the first thing that grabbed my attention and your focusing is spot on, it is also difficult with such a light coloured animal to avoid burning out highlights which you have avoided while also capturing details of the fur and whiskers a good depth of field great work

I liked the way you cropped in on the finer details and used a letterbox style for the image,some people might have wanted to see all of the pup and mum but you have captured the story. The colours are natural and rich nice work

This would have been an easy shot to spoil as the amount of white is enough to make getting a good balance and exposure very difficult. There is no burn out and the fur colours are natural and there is good contrast with the eyes my only real critique is I would have liked to have seen a little less snow behind the sea lion and more to the left as dead space he could have moved into but it may not have been possible great shot though

This image was just outside of my top10 but it impressed me with how you captured the textures and colours of the fur and even though it would blend in with the surrounding rocks you have managed to maintain good separation between the subject and the background good work

I liked the way that. You managed to compose this shot with the seals appearing to be getting ready to balance the sun.a very difficult exposure to get right as it is contra jour and you have managed to capture the colours in the water, textures and reflections well done
