This image is great on so many levels, but what made it for me was the expression and pose of the dancing man. Such happiness, as if he had not a worry in the world, which is so rare or better, close to impossible, in these days. All the other couples are obviously having fun, but these two are just incredibly out of space and time. You caught a fantastic moment and I bet they were happy to see your picture. Congrats on third place!
I have shot butterflies in flight so I appreciate how difficult it is. Probably a crop but you still managed to have very very good quality. The eye is tack sharp and most of the wings are in focus as well. The background is clean and creamy, hues similar to the butterfly's. You did an outstanding job with this one. Congrats on your top 10!
This image really made me laugh! I have insect pets and take pictures of them and they never act how I would expect/like them to. So I can relate to some surprising action during a seemingly normal shoot and sometimes, like in this case, that is certainly for the best! Congratulations on catching the perfect moment and on your top 10 placement!
This is such a great point of view and the use of the wide angle is very fitting and while bringing context to the scene, it doesn't distract from the main action. I love these athletes' concentrated expressions and to see their contracting muscles while they start the race. You did great in catching the exact starting moment and telling this story. Congrats on your top 10 placement!
This photo is just perfect, as an image but also for the brief! The fact that you had a 600mm lens and only had a few shots available before the osprey would fill the frame means you were able to keep your cool and take advantage of the lucky circumstance that it flew straight at you. For personal experience I know that being in a hide is not a guarantee of shooting good pictures but you did great here! Also the editing is perfect, a wow picture without overdoing it. Congratulations on first place!

In this contest I would like to see your photos that you were able to shoot by seizing the moment. The subject is up to you but it must be clear from the picture that the moment was unique and a few seconds later would have been too late. Colour or black and white images are both acceptable.
