The brief for this contest was 'shapes' and what intrigued us most about this image was how these strange circular shapes were actually formed. That they're naturally created makes them even more alluring, and the composition, with the breeding pools stretching into the distance as far as the eye can see, combined with the fact that the shot is sharp from front to back thanks to the depth of field afforded by the narrow aperture, shows a good deal of technical ability.

The theme this **Canon only** contest is simply – shapes. Square or circle, triangle or hexagon, rectangle or oval – the list goes on and on. Perhaps you have a shot that focuses on one particular shape, or have an intriguing abstract image incorporating all sorts of different shapes. **Don't forget, all entries must be taken with a Canon DSLR camera**, and you must also include a title and shooting information (i.e. camera, lens and exposure info), either in the info section or in the image's own exif data. Images without shooting information will not be considered.
