This is a very well composed and seen image. The two individuals in the shop front. Do they know each other? both lost in their own space and thoughts. The lovely colours between the scooter and the man's jumper against the darker background. Everything about this image is well composed with formal elements and it screams Italy. Even though it is not. A clean and clever photograph.
This is a very well seen image and shot at the perfect moment. The shop owner unaware of the cameras presence going about her task surrounded by hundreds of magazines. The pictures on the magazines depicting young beautiful couples and individuals yet the star is the old lady central in the image. We can't take our eyes off her and that is quite a skill from the photographer. A very well composed image and a worthy winner.

Sometimes you have to be lucky to come across a subject so vivid you have to make a picture. On the surface this seems like one of those times. The quirky quaility of this capture puts a smile on your face. I can imagine any passerby just having to look. You dont often come across a set of Viking re-enactors waiting outside a bakery. I wonder if the photographer themselves were dressed similar. A great shot that had to be taken.

From the functional and uninspired, to elaborate and artistic creations that can draw crowds to signature stores, and put Turkish bazaars on the tourist trail. There are national and regional variations that give a distinct look to high streets, but at the increasingly popular out of town shopping centres there is a sameness to the shopfront designs that does away with much of that local and historical character.
