Single Animal on a Black Background (in colour)

Whenever I pick my Top 10, I look for photos that "speak to me". This image caught my attention very early in my judging. The elegance of the Kestrel and the clarity and composition of the image are just a few of the things that really drew me in. Congratulations on a job well done!

What an amazing photo! I love the clarity of the image; it allows the viewer to experience all the details - the water droplets, the feathers, and the beak, just to name a few. This photo was very deserving of a Top 10 award. Congratulations!

There were so many amazing images in this contest that picking my Top 10 was very difficult. This image caught my eye because it was unique; the ladder adds great texture and context to the image. As the viewer, you can imaging the heron sitting ever so still, waiting for the right prey to come along. Well done!

What an absolutely gorgeous photo! The colour, clarity and composition are all amazing. There were so many wonderful photos in this contest that choosing the Top 10 was difficult. However, yours made my list very early in the judging process. Brilliant job!
