This image caught my eye as soon as I saw it. The composition and set-up works really well, with plenty of details to hold the attention. The colours in the wool and patchwork are lovely, with bold contrasts. What also adds interest is thr contrasting textures between the soft fluffy wool and the smooth cotton fabric of the quilt. A fabulous image of some soft throws, which do indeed look very comfy. The textures of the fabric and tassels are very well captured, giving the viewer a strong indication of how the subject would feel to touch. Colours are lovely; bright and bold without being oversaturated. Well done on your top ten placing.

Such a simple, everyday subject, but creatively captured to make for an unusual but interesting image. Good use of light and shade to accentuate the folds and indents in the bedding, adding lots of textural interest. A wise decision go convert the shot to black and white, as that really suits the subject. Evidence that a great image can be captured from the most mundane of subjects using a little imagination. This image relies on the use of light and associated shadows to become an intriguing image full of interest. The image has taken on a slightly abstract feel, and at times we cannot be sure exactly what and how we are viewing the subject. The light and floaty curtains allow the daylight to pass through and cast a shadow on the wall. The low key lighting allows the shapes of the curtain to take centre stage. Conversion to black and white suits the subject and adds to the abstract. Congratulations on your second place finish.

A lovely image of a beautiful cushion, superbly captured go reveal the textures of the fabric, the plump cushion and the tassle embellishments. I love the virtually monochrome look to the image, which creates a lovely gentle mood and suits the subject, suggesting elegance but also comfort. Soft furnishings are items made from textile or cloth that are used to decorate a room, such as curtains, cushions, bedding, towels, chair coverings and table linens. Upholstery is the soft padded textiles fitted to furniture such as chairs and settees. They can transform a room into a home or simply provide some practical comfort. You may wish to focus on details or textures etc. or maybe capture a slightly wider view of the soft furnishings and upholstery within a room setting. The soft furnishings or upholstery should be the key subject in the image. Photos can be in colour or black and white. I look forward to seeing your entries.
