This competition saw lots of wire wool spinning but for me this is lovely. A nice scene that shows life as it should be for me. The sparks are clear, sharp and well held as is all of the image. The composition is great especially with the sparks leading you in well along the diagonal. I like the angle of the gentleman's face not only because it mirrors the angle of the sparks but also you can see his deep level of concentration and passion for his work. A worthy winner, well done.
In a competition with lots of wire wool images this caught my eye. Choosing to shoot this at night I feel has made this image for you. It has enabled you to get the bright (but well handled pier lights) as your centre focus to your amazing wire wool circle. You did really well to get your angles spot on. To be directly in the middle of the pier and also straight across it at the same time shows fantastic ability to set up your shot. You have also handled your tones and contrast brilliantly to retain the detail in all the areas especially the shadows.
Here you have shown great creativity. I would never have thought about doing this. It has led to a really interesting and imaginative image. Your whole image is pin sharp and well composed. You have handled your tones and contrast really well as you have managed to keep the sparks correctly exposed. Well done.

This is a really nice, natural image of sparks. I love the atmosphere of the image. Your tones and contrast being darker add to the feel of the image and blend really well, and well done for keeping all the detail in the whole image. I get the feeling he's working at night/in the dark. The image is pin sharp and very well framed too. Well done.

For this contest I am looking for your colour photos showing sparks. The sparks in the image can be coming from any source such as from metalworking or from a fire. People can be included in the image as long as the sparks are clear. You could try close-up shots or a creative angle. Please only enter colour photos, no black and white. I look forward to seeing your images of sparks.
