Sports photography is a daunting and competitive field, where one small mistake can ruin an entire shot. Equipment does play a role in high quality sports shot, especially if you’ll be capturing the action from a distance or taking many shots in short succession. But for more general sports shots, good lighting and lucky timing is all you need.
