Stained glass windows

February 2021

Great image, nice tones and contrasts, fantastic shot, and almost technically perfect, pity for a little blur on the top. Anyway a not easy shot due to the size of the glass. In your shoes I would try something with the light passing through on the walls.

Impressive image, really suggesting, the colors are definite and well balanced. The equilibrium between darkness and light very well respected. Can't find anything that isn't working. May be some more symmetry and the subject isn't one of the easiest a photographer can challenge.

Nice composition and great light for this image, I like the details and the dynamic. Pity the some of the withes are "burned out", and I guess it's easy to do it with similar subject, next time, I would suggest to try to use the HDR or composition technique.

great color and sharpness, nice detail for an uneasy subject, great balance of colours and lights and darks. Love the tones and the contrast, keep going this way and put some contest in this kind of photos, just to let the observer understand where he (or she) is.

Good idea and point of view, fantastic tones on the wood of the banks. Pity for the side distortion and the missing symmetry of the whole image. May be some better composition could help in achieve a winner. Anyway like the tones balance.

Love the dynamic of the image, nice composition and symmetry, impressive point of view and sharpness. The only thing that disturbs me a little is the green area and the "hole" on the upper right side, this un balances a little the overall composition, same thing for the "Point" in the middle. If you want to exploit symmetry, everything should be symmetric.

Love the colours here, clear tones and a linear subject. Clean image and really sharp. The subject seems to come out from the window. The only defect I see is the top, may be, trying to frame it better would improve the overall composition.

Great balance here, nice subject, and tones, what I like the most is how the image comes out from the black on the bottom. The balance is perfect and the tones are vivid and saturated in the a perfect way. Congratulations for your work.

Very impressive work, I like the color balance and the overall image. May be some context would help the observer to understand where he is and what is looking. Anyway nice light/dark balance and controlo of the exposure. a little more symmetry can help.

I love the Sainte Chappelle, a true challenge for a photographer, I've tried to shot it a lot of times without achieving anything satisfactory. And I see the same problem here, It is really difficult to show the magnificence of the place with a single shot done in a traditional way. I will reward as a winner the first one who will shot the perfect sainte chapelle... Anyway, great shot.

Stained glass, that magical element in so many places of worship, provides a unique challenge for the photographer. How to capture that breathtaking show of backlit colour, whilst balancing it with its darker surroundings, and composed appropriately? When done well, it can (almost) be as good as being there in the flesh. *This contest is open to Photocrowd subscribers (Challenger/Pro/Master), or by purchasing entries.*

Great Dynamic and impact for this image, of a not so easy subject. What I love the most is the movement illusion that gives to the observer. A winner in my opinion, thanks to its peculiarity. What I can suggest to improve it? May be the composition, next time, try to cut off the lower part of the image to give the illusion of something really "out of this world" letting the observer understand what is looking at the second look.

Nice idea the controlled blur, the image is really original and different from the crowd. The main problem is the composition, I would try something more symmetric to give the impression of take off to the observer. Anyway great idea and realisation.

Nice image, interesting asymmetric composition. I like the point of view of the observer standing in a corridor. I like the reflection on the stones and the overall light control, sadly the whites are too little high, for this kind of image I would try and HDR. Or if it is an HDR I would reduce a little more the highlights.

Great colours and contrasts here, nice composition and subject, the glass seems taken directly from a videogame. I like almost everything but there's something wrong in the symmetry that ruins a little the balance of the image at least at a second sight. Anyway fantastic shot.
