This is a fantastic image. There is a sense of stillness throughout the scene, although it is probably a busy street. The bike sitting on the right adds to this. If I was to try this shot, I would have been tempted to try the aperture around the F16 mark to see if the starbursts could be more clean cut. But overall a fantastic shot!

This is a superb example of how starburst can make an already great image look even better. The timing needed to get this shot is impressive. The colours are great and the golden light hitting the sand adds to the warm feel.

The timing in this shot is unreal. Nice job on capturing this moment with the added effect of a starburst, as it can sometimes be difficult having a small aperture with faster moving subjects. The whole image is pin sharp and the black and white conversion adds drama. Great work

Starbursts are created through the phenomenon of diffraction. Not only limited to the sun, any light source can be used to create this effect. Whether it be street lights, car lights or even reflected light it can create a great focal point in an image. In this contest I’m looking to see starbursts from any light source and any genre. It could be a landscape shot with the sun, a night shot with streetlights or even a Macro shot incorporating the theme. So let’s see your STARBURSTS.
