Starfish

This is a rather sad yet beautiful image. The amazing blue water with the blue star fish really ties everything together. It is rather sad to see this bleached reef, but gives a ray of hope that some like this amazing starfish can survive despite rising temperatures.

Congratulations on first place! I feel like this is such a simple image, but it is just so pleasing! I love the warm colors, and the placement of the starfish in the image. The areas that are in focus vs. out of focus feel like a perfect ratio. I really like the subtle diagonal lines in the background and foreground. This is a really beautiful image, as soon as I saw it, stood out to me as an excellent shot. Very well done. Thank you for entering this contest.

What a cool photo! I love how this purple starfish is on the tip of a rock and seems almost proud like it's king of the world! Really great job with the focus and the blurred background, it's a lovely composition.

What a pretty starfish! This little one almost looks like a plastic toy. What an amazing wonder! The yellow background really adds to this image and makes it stand out as not a typical underwater shot. I also really like the starfish's pose like its sitting down. That pose gives it a good deal of character. Nicely done!

I really like the colors of this starfish as well as how the light is playing in the water. This is such as nice shot because the starfish is not distorted at all by the water yet it is clearly under water. Very nice job with this image, it is just lovely!

What a dramatic photo! I really like this one because this starfish could easily be some kind of alien life form or sea monster if we didn't know any better. I like the way the red and purple clouds are reflecting on the water in the perfect spot to show up all around the starfish! Such an incredible job and attention to detail!

Very nice idea standing this dead starfish up. I love the lighting and the focal length. I find this shot very pleasing to look at with the soft colors and warm lighting. It's such a simple idea, but wow this was done very well.
