The scale displayed in this shot is very impressive: the little engine winding it's way along the mountain tops. The ridge along the top gives a beautiful contrast with the distant forest beyond. The colour of the carriages also contrasts well with the green surroundings, drawing the eye to the main subject. A really well put together photo.
This shot is incredibly atmospheric. The long exposure, needed for a low light shot, has given these fantastic shapes in the clouds coming off the engine. These are highlighted by the portrait orientation. Only criticism I have is incredibly minor: the red light down the tracks. It does tend to draw the eye. Overall, a fantastic shot.

The location choice for this shot is impeccable. It has created a truly unique shot. The locomotive and train and framed perfectly in the tunnel portal, and then in the reflection of the water. Black and white is an obvious choice for this shot and it works exceptionally well. Overall, an extremely impactful shot.

Another portal image but great for different reasons. Colour is used to highlight the light from the fire, which is being permeated around the locomotive by the smoke. Speaking of the smoke, this image makes you imagine the giant plume that will erupt when the engine exits the tunnel. This image hasn't captured that moment but you can still feel the energy within the build up of smoke within the tunnel.
