Steampunk Costumes

A wonderful example of a couple in beautiful, full steampunk regalia! The viewer's eye is immediately drawn to the hat on the man. Without lingering too long, the eye is then pulled to the face of the woman. It takes a moment to realize that they are posing, because the shot looks so casual. These are people who know how to position themselves for the photographer, and the photographer has tastefully captured them in their pose.

I live the soft elegance of this photo. The facial expression is well captured, and the subject is well-placed in front of the background. The pose is refreshingly casual while maintaining a poised look. Well done to the photographer for capturing this beautiful image!

This image really speaks to me. The photographer has captured a bit of youthful innocence and hopeful future in her expression. And with music being the universal language it is, all the symbolism buttons are ticked in this photo. The subject is well-placed in the frame, without the distraction of a busy background. If Clark Kent decided to go steampunk, this is what it would look like. That being said, the photographer has captured this excellently. The facial expression is especially well defined in this close up portrait. Because of the blue lens of the costume, it would seem logical that the viewer's eye would be drawn there but, instead, it is drawn like a magnet to the exposed human eye. In that is conveyed a human emotion behind the mask. Superbly done. Congratulations to the photographer for the winning image!

While this woman is obviously caught in mid-conversation, the photo is still a great capture of her steampunk costume. It is a superb portrait, well-framed and well-lit. While she well-represents her chosen steampunk costume, the photographer has well-represented her in that costume. Great shot!
